Our Days at Prebend!
The staff set up our downstairs and upstairs levels with a wide range of activities that promote the learning and development of all children whilst following the EYFS and Birth to Five Matters guidelines.
A small example of what our children do during their day are:
- Tuff trays with a range of activities, textures and colours.
- Messy Play using a wide range of items (we recommend bringing your child in clothes that can get dirty!)
- Baking
- Yoga and Dancing
- A wide range of books to read together
- A separate sensory room to relax
- Climbing apparatus to develop gross motor skills
- Outside play in our enclosed garden throughout the year.
Lunch & Snack Time
During our snack and lunch time, we promote our children's independence as much as possible, by encouraging self-hand-washing, pouring their own water/milk and deciding for themselves which tasty, healthy snack they would like!
We provide healthy, nutritious snacks and our children have clear access to fresh water throughout the day.
During lunchtimes, we follow closely with schools. This means our children sit together at tables and are able to converse and learn from each other whilst eating. We quickly find them talking about a wide array of subjects during this time!
Our Trips Out!
We love going out into our community and surrounding areas, learning from people that help us in shops/emergency services and burning off energy! An example of what we get upto outside are:
- Palace Gardens and Play Areas
- White Post Farm
- Garden Centre's
- Reg Taylor's Swan Sanctuary
- Library and local Churches
- Southwell Trial
- Local Shops
End of Year Celebrations
We love celebrating our children in every way possible, whether it is our Christmas Sing-a-long and party, or our Preschool Graduation Evening!
It is always a bittersweet moment when our big children are ready for their next journey into school, but to be able to celebrate their time with us with a party, dance, videos and the special runway down to collect their certificate! Our parents love our Graduations, as they can see the huge amount of progress their child has made!
