About Us!

As a preschool, we find it essential to follow the exact layout of our schools in the local area, so our children have a seamless transition when they graduate. With this, we are only open term-time from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, and we also follow the same inset days to ensure that our parents with older children have the same timetable.

This also allows parents who claim funding to use their full 15 or 30 hours each week, instead of spreading them out over the extra weeks.

Our Focus

Through a rich and varied curriculum, a strong partnership with parents/carers, a well-resourced environment both indoors and outdoors and knowledgeable, caring practitioners we will support each child through their early years. We aim to help every child thrive and give them the tools needed for future learning and adventures, preparing them for transitions and helping them acquire lifelong skills.

Our Ethos

Children learn best through play – the role of the adult as facilitator enables practitioners to observe children’s current abilities and provide opportunities for children to further their learning.

Practitioners use positive role modelling to support children in making positive choices and reflecting on their actions. We foster the importance of RESPECT, learning to respect each other, toys, resources, equipment, and the environment around us. We pride ourselves on creating an enabling environment for all children, both indoors and outdoors, that meets the children’s ever-changing needs and interests.

We aim to offer children engaging and thought-provoking experiences to help them make sense of the world around them. Through positive relationships, practitioners sensitively support and extend children’s learning through play-based activities, helping each child to reach their full potential and build strong foundations for future learning and development.

Equality and Safeguarding

At Prebend Preschool, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of every child in our care is our highest priority. We are committed to providing a safe, secure, and nurturing environment where all children feel valued, respected, and listened to. All staff are trained in safeguarding procedures and understand their responsibilities in identifying and responding to any concerns about a child’s wellbeing.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Jeannine, and our Deputy DSL is Danielle. They are responsible for overseeing all aspects of safeguarding and ensuring that concerns are acted upon promptly and appropriately. They also attend regular networking meetings to stay up-to-date on all changes.
We follow the guidance set out in Keeping Children Safe in Education and Working Together to Safeguard Children, and work closely with local safeguarding partners to ensure best practice. All staff members undergo regular safeguarding training, and our policies are reviewed annually.

We believe in building strong relationships with families and aim to work in partnership with parents and carers. If you ever have a concern about a child, or about how we manage safeguarding, please speak to our DSL or any member of the team.
